Jack Wolfskin Terraventure Texapore Hiking Boots: Small Footprint, Big Strides In Footwear Performance

Jack Wolfskin will introduce sustainable design to market with its Terraventure Texapore hiking boot.

The hiking boots, available in mid- and low-ankle height, eliminate PFCs from manufacturing while using nearly 100 percent recycled materials. The technical hiking boot will be manufactured with recycled and sustainably-sourced uppers, membranes, liners, midsoles, and outsole materials.

Aspiring to eliminate PFCs from its footwear range by 2025, the Terraventure Texapore boot is water-repellent performance without using chemical treatments. The upper is made with the brand’s proprietary Texapore Ecosphere membrane, a recycled, synthetic material made from post- and pre-consumer waste, and a recycled tricot lining. The cushioned EVA midsole is made from 30 percent sugar cane and 3 percent cork, while the Vibram outsole comes from recycled rubber. The lace eyelets are fabricated from 76 percent recycled zinc.

“Jack Wolfskin constantly strives to minimize the environmental impact of our products and establish more sustainable practices to guide the outdoor industry,” said Selim Say, vice president, Footwear. “Durable construction, recycled materials, and chemical-free alternatives represent progress. The Terraventure Texapore boot is a special achievement that combines the best in performance features and the latest in sustainable manufacturing.”

The Terraventure Texapore is offered in two colors for men and women. For more product information, go here.
