Redefining lightweight minimalism, the MOUNTAINEER 40/ 30 was designed with the weight-conscious purist in mind. This incredibly lightweight mountaineering rucksack has a FLEXCONTACT carry system to provide a comfortable, stable carry at the lightest possible weight.The detailing is concentratedon the essential attachment and lashing options required to accommodate alpine safety equipment: rope, helmet, skis, ice axe and trekking poles.

The MOUNTAINEER series comprises our extremely robust, alpine rucksacks. They all have numerous packing and lashing options and are constructed from lightweight, yet extremely tough fabrics. Critical wear points are either reinforced with an extra layer of material or bar tack stitching. The pack's high, slimline design keeps it closer to the body for better control of the carry and improved mobility.

Our FLEXCONTACT carry system enables optimal freedom of movement and load control, even on difficult terrain. The flexible back plate can be removed to save weight, turning the rucksack into an ultra-light "softpack" for climbing.

This bag can carry a lot. The construction is top-notch. The zippers work flawlessly. It is so handy to be able to flip the bag around and not have anything drop out. The zipper compartment within the main compartment keeps things separate. In the small compartment, a Velcro closure pocket keeps small object in place. As a guy, I was looking for something that would keep my hands free, but was less bulky that a messenger bag. This bag holds all my gadgets: two 5 cell phones (in slim cases) 20000Mah charger, charging cables, small notebook, compact 1st aid kit, keys, pens, wallet, folding keyboard. There is also a very handy pocket on the strap where I keep small items close at hand. The quick-release buckles make it easy to remove. My one issue is with the secondary strap when not in use, it hangs down. I solved the problem by using a thin s-biner clipped to the hanging cord. I do wish there was a mesh water-bottle holder though. Otherwise, it is nearly perfect.

It's an okay jacket. Kinda makes me feel like I'm cruising down the interstate during a zombie apocalypse. I don't like the collar-thing on the jacket. It comes with a place to button it to the body of the jacket. I understand its purpose in providing further shielding from cold/rain, but it's a little choking, especially if I ordered a medium that ended up way bigger than I expected (and I'm 5'11 at 180 pounds). I like the inside of the jacket. The material seems like a little water resistant, not too much, but not too little either. The design is really cool (brings out that old-school feel). I got this jacket in the color green, for the price, and because I've never owned a green jacket before. The cuffs where the sleeves end are snug and comfortable. I would get this jacket if you're looking for a typical jacket to wear with your jeans and sneakers. I'm a college student so it fits in with my entire wardrobe. I wouldn't get this jacket for anything else though.
